Die Umgebung in der das Team von roeck architekten ein Wohnhaus für passionierte Pferdezüchter realisieren konnte, könnte malerischer nicht sein. Sie gehört zu der Tiroler Gemeinde Haiming und wird von hochalpinen Gebirgsketten gerahmt.
Der Baukörper gliedert sich in zwei Teile.
Ein zweigeschossiger Betonsockel beherbergt einen Pferdestall und alle Wohnräume. Der Stall ist ebenerdig direkt mit einer Pferdekoppel verbunden. Die Wohnräume reagieren auf die fantastische Lage. Große Fenster machen die Landschaft zu einem wesentlichen Teil dieser Wohnsituation. Um davon nicht abzulenken sind diese Bereiche von einer sehr reduzierten Materialwahl geprägt. Auch die Pferdekoppel kann von der Wohnebene aus jederzeit eingesehen werden.
Auf diesem Sockel sitzt das Obergeschoss. Es dient als überdachter Hauseingang. Und verknüpft den Bau mit den Nachbarhäusern: es übernimmt Dachform und Materialität, integriert den Neubau so in seine Umgebung.

The surroundings in which the team from roeck architekten were able to realize a residential building for passionate horse breeders could not be more picturesque. The area, which belongs to the Tyrolean municipality of Haiming, is framed by high alpine mountain ranges.
The building is divided into two parts.
A two-storey concrete base houses a horse stable and all the living quarters. The stable is directly connected to a paddock at ground level. The living spaces respond to the fantastic location. Large windows make the landscape an essential part of this living situation. In order not to distract from this, these areas are characterized by a very reduced choice of materials. The paddock can also be seen from the living level at all times.
The upper floor sits on this plinth. It serves as a covered entrance to the house. And links the building to the neighboring houses: it adopts the roof shape and materiality, integrating the new building into its surroundings.
