The renowned architectural magazine AIT exists since 120 years – always having outstanding Interior design projects as well as high quality architecture in the field of vision.

Who else if not the architecture magazine AIT could look for the “best of the best” – and ascertain the global „State of the Art“ of interior design and architecture with the newly created AIT Award? With the AIT Award we now start a new competition with a particular high profile. Year after year we will from now on look for, find and acknowledge the best architecture and most outstanding interior design projects – in Europe, America, Asia and all other regions of the world.

All sorts of architecture and interiors in different categories can be submitted, from the classical residential building to home interiors through to the opera house, from small showroom to shopping centre through to museum. In addition to project related categories, two special prizes for the „Next Generation“ (architects under 40) and „Charity“ are awarded.

A jury consisting of internationally renowned architects and interiors designers as Bostjan Vuga, Inès Lamunière, Jasmin Grego, Hilde Léon, Mikko Heikkinen, Mark Blaschitz, Bert Haller, Hans Ibelings will reward the best project in each of the 20 categories. The award ceremony and the AIT Award exhibition will take place during the Light + Building 2012 trade fair in Frankfurt.

The competition is open to architects, interior designers and design professionals as intellectual authors of the submitted projects. Building owners and product manufacturers may also submit entries, provided they state the names of the architects, interior designers and design professionals responsible for the project in question. A maximum of five projects per entrant may be submitted - not more than two in the same category. The projects must have been completed after 31.12.2008. There is no charge for entering the competition.

The registration/submission deadline of the AIT Award 2012 is the 24th February 2012 – the registration form should be send by fax to AIT/GKT in Hamburg (+49-(0)40-7070 898 20).
